Pet Therapy
Summerfield School is delighted to be registered for Pets As Therapy visits.
These visits can help to give pupils opportunities to increase their confidence and sense of well-being.
Your child will have access to sessions with the Pets As Therapy registered Dog, either Reading to it or taking it for a short walk off-site, under close supervision. These dogs are specially registered Dogs who normally visit in hospitals, hospices, care homes etc. They will remain on the lead and under control at all times. A member of school staff will lead the sessions and will be present throughout.
This will be a special time for your child as they will have a chance to get to know the dog as the weeks progress.
Please do speak to Kate Addison (Pastoral Co-ordinator) if you have any queries regarding the Pets As Therapy sessions.
